To me it no longer holds the same charm but it frames the view beyond and has made the crossing safe. An area of Carrowholly that was once a meeting point with an adjacent hand ball alley no longer in use.

This is a painting combined with glass of the sea and shore at Bertra Beach in Westport. The use of broken glass as a window to view something beautiful is my contemplating all those that use this beach for therapy a place to "shake of the cobwebs", to process pain, to connect to nature, and the resilience and the willingness of us as humans to keep peering through pain to see beauty and to believe in its existence.

Oil, ink, acrylic on stretched canvas This dreamy painting of Rosmoney holds so much emotion. From a walk on a wet day the light and shadows made a powerful image that evoked many childhood memories of spending time at Rosmoney Pier in Carrowholly. With all that, and the energy of all those that have passed this way for work and leisure, this inspired me to capture this scene on a canvas.

Size: 30cm x 60cm Oil on stretched canvas My mother is from Achill and as a child I found it a lonely but beautiful place to visit. The red/orange earth is etched in my memory as been that place, also when the sun came out it was like a different planet to me. I guess this could be the wishful thinking of a young girl all those years ago.

Size: 65cm x50cm Glass Mosaic, clay, gold leaf, and acrylic paint on board and set into a white wooden frame ready to hang. This work was chosen as part of the Mayo Artists exhibition at the Linenhall Castlebar 2024. Size: 76cm x50cm Oil on stretched canvas Sometimes there is a narrative in world news and media and the masses seem to jump to conclusions in one direction, while painting this it became like a metaphor for that feeling of being silenced for a different view, the tree is like a painful symbol of that silence. There are many other symbols but it was never my intention to describe these to the viewer.
